5 Unconventional 911 Calls That Ended in Success
People call 911 for various reasons, and there is a huge percentage of people that call the emergency line for non-emergency reasons. Sometimes, these "fraud" calls to 911 will end with the callers arrested, especially if the authorities determine that these people are calling the emergency line repeatedly for non-emergency reasons, thus abusing the emergency service. Usually, the people who make an "unconventional" 911 call one single time are told not to repeat their actions again. But did you know that some of them ended in success? 1. Calling the Cops for Being Attacked by a Cat
A woman in Florida called the cops after her cat attacked her in her home. For no apparent reason, the cat was attacking her and her husband in the bedroom. Once the cat was out in the living room, they seemed to be unable to go out, since they were really freaked out by the angry cat. So, while trapped in the bedroom, the wife called 911 to help them out. She said that the cat attacked her husband and that his arms were pouring blood. In the end, the police officers that came to her house rescued her and her husband, and the cat was quarantined for 10 days.
2. A Man Called 911 Because He Dreamt a Buffalo Fell on Him
A man in Florida called 911 in the middle of his sleep because he thought that a buffalo fell on him. He was calling the cops frantically and yelled to the operators that he was trapped. In reality, it was just a stuffed buffalo head that fell from the wall during his sleep. But, because he was in panic and couldn't move from his spot right after it fell on him, he immediately reached his cell phone and called the emergency line to help him out. In the end, the police officers helped him take the stuffed buffalo head off his body and he was sent to the hospital right away.
3. A Toddler Called 911 Because She Couldn't Put Her Pants On
A toddler in Greenville called 911 momentarily and she hung up the call immediately. Puzzled, the 911 operators decided to dispatch a police officer to the source of the call just to make sure that nothing happened there. When the police officer came to the caller's house, the toddler showed up innocently with half of her pants on her leg. It was later found that the toddler wanted the police officer to help her put her pants on, because she couldn't figure out how to do it for herself. As a result, the police officer helped her put her pants on and played with her for a while.
4. A Teenager Called 911 Because of a "Massive" Spider
A teenager in Forest Grove called the police to help protect her from a massive spider. She told the operators that the spider was the size of a baseball. The dispatcher then sent a police officer to the girl's house, where the police officer found that the spider was no more than 2 inches in diameter. While the dispatcher may not usually respond to this kind of calls, they decided to help the girl anyway. After a while, the police officer killed the spider with a rolled-up newspaper. Later, the girl was found to have a condition called muscular dystrophy, which made killing the spider a really difficult thing to do for herself.
5. Family Called 911 for Being Lost in Corn Maze
When you enter a corn maze, it can be puzzling sometimes. That's because when you go deeper and deeper into the maze, you might end up getting lost and not know how to get out. Just like this family. They entered a corn maze and, being puzzled after some time. As a result, they got lost and called 911 for help. It happened in Solano County, and the maze was a really big one. So, the dispatcher decided to rescue this family, and the police officers successfully found them after exploring the maze for 9 minutes.
